Phone: (949) 733-0044The High Hopes Head Injury Program is dedicated to the rehabilitation and retraining of those who have been devastated by traumatic head injuries. High Hopes offers scholarship assistance for many of students unable to afford their programs. High Hope’s difficult financial problems as it is the lowest costing program of it’s kind in the nation. In addition, High Hopes offers scholarship assistance for many of our students otherwise unable to afford a program. As the cost of providing the program is not covered by student tuition income, High Hopes is only able to offer such assistance through fund-raising by direct donations and events like the annual Eric Marienthal and Friends benefit Concert.

The Mission Heritage Medical Group Concussion Clinic offers a team approach to your brain care. Joey Gee, D.O., specializes in neurology and is experienced in diagnosing and treating concussion and traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. During your visit, you will meet with a neurologist, physical therapist and speech therapist. Your care team will evaluate your symptoms and create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for recovery and for caring for the symptoms of a concussion.

Phone: (657) 224-9681In the case of a known or suspected concussion or an acquired brain injury, patients at the Sports Concussion Institute will be assessed and treated by licensed neuropsychologists, board certified physicians, and certified athletic trainers. These individuals have had extensive experience in the field of traumatic brain injury and concussion diagnosis, management and community education. Depending on the nature of the injury and the clients evaluation needs, the assessment may take anything from one hour (involving an interview and neurocognitive screen) to multiple hours spanning several days (more typical in cases where the injury was more severe or experienced further back in time and which requires longer-term treatment, accommodations, or rehabilitation). Regardless of the type of injury, our primary goal is to return the athlete back to play, school, work, and life as quickly and safely as possible.

The Mission Hospital Brain Injury Center has the capabilities and training to treat a full spectrum of head injuries, including traumatically injured neurologic patients. The Traumatic Brain Injury Program was one of the first in the nation to use brain oxygen monitors to better gauge and amend treatments. By advancing their practices and adopting state-of-the-art techniques, the Center boasts a 70 percent positive outcome in the most severe traumatic brain injuries. Mission’s TBI program treats concussions just as seriously as severe brain injuries. The signs and symptoms of a concussion can be subtle but the effects can result in lifetime disabilities if not treated properly so they want to ensure the person gets the best treatment possible.
